So I guess that is the same for football? A "system" can elevate players

to a whole that is greater than the individual sum of its parts at the G5 level but not at the P5 level?

I think that is right to a point. The higher level of competition you play the harder it is to take a team of less talent and make a whole that can compete with "more" talent of the higher levels.
