That's what we had with PSU during that time period. So while a lot of Penn State fans were upset with the Big Ten then, they were without any leadership to make a move out of the Big Ten. So I doubt that Penn State seriously considered it. Would they have possibly allowed the Big Ten to think they would leave? Possibly to have leverage for the additions they got.

It's like Big Ten fans thinking that they were going to get UVA in 2012. Teresa Sullivan was under fire by the Board of Visitors, and they tried to fire her. We had a mutiny with the faculty. The last thing UVA was thinking about was the Big Ten during that time. Teresa Sullivan was trying to save her own job.
