If they had retained TAMU, Nebraska, Colorado, and Mizzou, the ACC would probably be dead. Big 12 might indeed have been able to attract a ND or an FSU.

But they didn't. They co-opted with the SEC on a good bowl deal; but then did really, little else. They completely whiffed on Louisville. They completely whiffed on their opportunity to form a network. The ACC had to wait. The Big 12 did not; they simply decided not to. The Tier 3 deal was a short term saving grace but the GoR was a long term disaster in that it foreclosed their future opportunities.

The networks propped them up for awhile to protect their prior investment. Then the Big 12 burned those bridges with the recent extortion exercise.

I'm not apologizing for Swoff...I said he should have been fired for Raycom and I would still fire him tomorrow.

But the Big 12 leadership took a conference that should be dead even right now with the B1G and SEC and put it on a trajectory to fly the plane into the ground.
