No way. They had nowhere to expand, even w/ Nebraska, Colorado, and A&M.

WVU never belonged there. Louisville would have been an unnatural fit too. Though the addition of both would have made more sense. Heck, I think the ACC whiffed on WVU. We most definitely would be better off having added them instead of BC. They would help to build that bridge to Louisville and Notre Dame too.

Anyhow, the Big12 was locked in with its teams in a sparsely populated region of the country. There's no people out there. And there aren't a whole lot of talented players either, at least not enough to supply an entire megaconference.

And as we learned with Maryland, it's tough to turn down a B1G invite. And actually the B1G invite was what Missouri thought they had when they were heading out the door, but the B1G pulled one over on them. So they "settled" for the SEC.
