It sure it, and that highlights how hard it is for the ACC to break through
But I'm very impressed how far the ACC has come in breaking through that over the past 25 years.
For decades starting in the 1960s through the 1980s the NCAA had a monopoly on college football television and forced the nation to watch a Big Ten game at noon every Saturday and a PAC12 game at 4:00 every Saturday on ABC. Notre Dame got on TV when they played the Big Ten or PAC12.
All of the other conferences were relegated to a random game here or there. The Rose Bowl was pushed, and everyone else was pushed aside. The guy in charge at the NCAA for college football TV was a guy from the University of Washington. We are in much better shape today with that cabal broken up. But there remain remnants still.
