Yeah, I expect if you add everything up, it might be a net reduction


in pollution. Figure ecommerce is a major contributor to the death of Circuit City, plus a lot of bookstores, non-big box hardware stores, and several department stores. Probably worth including how Netflix, etc. killed video rental stores, and that form of ecommerce is virtually zero pollution since it replaced a physical product with a virtual one.

That created a lot of vacant space that is now used for other things instead of requiring new retail space to be built (and lit, and climate controlled).
