Poked around a bit...looks like things have improved in the last ten+ years


Most of the information I could find about recycling being a waste, especially for paper and plastic, are from the late 90's and early 00's.

Looks like these days, recycling is competitive with tossing things in the landfill, and in some localities (notably where landfill space is very expensive), recycling is cheaper.
