Regulations, liability issues, costs of business. If you run a business in


the healthcare field the new regulations and obligations that we are required to meet have exploded in the last 15 years. The time and cost of meeting those obligations is huge as you either have to hire extra people or pay an outside firm to help you meet those obligations. Many of those regulations do absolutely NOTHING to further the care you give or to "protect" anyone (in my humble opinion). I suspect the other things in the chart above that have increased so much are the same.
