It’s 10 schools getting paid for 12

From what I’ve read, there was no renegotiation when the schools left. There was a clause in the contract that kept the money the same no matter the number of schools. Contract was made when 12 teams existed in conference, now there are 10. Hence, the 10 getting paid as 12. Yes, the networks were crazy and the conference smart to add that clause. If you want to compare per school payouts to say how well a conference is doing, then try dividing the big 12 total payout by 12 and see how it compares.
