Amazing that in 2018 they just now figured out to tailor a message


That part really stuck out at me. Shows there was either an ignorance of the different regional cultures in the state, or a lack of caring about the people from the "ruggedly beautiful Appalachian region".

Well good for those students for making a personal effort to improve things. I wonder if the same issue exists for rural areas north, south or east of Roanoke as well. Because there are a lot of rural areas in VA beyond that mysterious "west of Roanoke".
