I'm no longer a huge Samsung fan boy.
Bought a small (~24") Samsung LCD TV for my mom's kitchen. Worked great for a couple years, then it would take forever to turn on...eventually it wouldn't turn on at all. Did a little research and they designed it with an undersized or defective capacitor. Bought her another & it's still going strong after ~8 years. (Two thumbs up on the replacement.)
Bought my current 65" Samsung (Series 6XXX?) LCD just before the 4K TVs hit the market. Almost from the beginning, I noticed the picture would cut off for several seconds, then turn itself back on. I played around with it and discovered that if I turned the DVR off long enough to get the Samsung text that it didn't have a source, then turned the DVR back on, it worked perfectly. In order to NOT have that issue, I much turn on the TV first & wait for the source text before turning my DVR on. Not a huge issue, but an annoyance.
I'll probably go cheap on my next big screen TV and go with the "top of the line" Vizio...or even cheaper with CPRV's favorite television (TCL). Those are supposed to have amazing displays for the money.
