wasn’t the most academically accomplished class they’ve admitted. It was #2, but given how “in demand” a VT education is according to Sands, it should’ve blown away any prior years. What that tells me is that a number of students were admitted and accepted who wouldn’t have gotten in during prior years but for the new holistic approach, which is different from, but has the same goal as, the SAT’s adversity score.
