LOTS of innovation, but at least those make sense. They are going to that


electro-magnetic launch system. Expensive to develop but huge cost savings on the back end.

The older launch systems break constantly and are really expensive to fix. If you don't have near 100% operational availability on launches, then it's bad news bears if you need fighters in the air.

To be honest, I never worked on the Ford, so I know less about it. I just know they have a ton of weapon systems upgrades, and that can make the first of class expensive.
