Exactly. The message has now been twisted (again) that we have to remain


in lockdown essentially indefinitely because more people will die. What they fail to mention is that the VAST majority of the people that are dying from COVID would also have died from the seasonal flu - we typically have 20k-50k deaths from the flu every year and that is despite a significant portion of the population having a vaccine. There is NO way that we can save every life - we have to be smart and those that are vulnerable need to remain isolated. But we simply can't destroy the Country trying to do the impossible. As you stated, the original intent of the lockdown was to prevent a collapse of the healthcare system and we seem to have won that battle. We also have a treatment that is at least effective in many and we have ramped up the ventilators and testing capabilities. It is about time to come out of our foxholes and see what is left.
