Now that I could see. If you go from a single pane to a double or triple


and live near an airport or highway, that probably would make a difference in how much noise gets through.

But I did window replacements on one house that may have made a 5% difference in energy usage. Next house I sealed the attic, shored up the insulation, and put in a thermal barrier that seems to have cut energy use by 10-15%.

The window job was a little under $4K. The attic job was under $300 in materials and I did the work myself (probably would have been $1K in labor to pay someone).
