Excellent post...As an engineer of ours always says, "A window is a hole ->


in the wall with glass in it. An efficient window is STILL a hole in the wall..just more/better glass.

We do large energy driven renovation projects in school divisions and counties. Everything has to have an attractive payback. We replace a lot of windows, but it is more for aesthetics than energy efficiency...Short of a roof replacement, that's at about the bottom of the replacement efficiency list...
