$150K w/ 2 kids in daycare and a mortgage in any metro area isn't gonna cut

it though.

The least expensive day care I can find is $1250/month for one, and $2400 for 2.

I'm not living in a million dollar home and have no car payments, thank god.

And we can barely get by on more than that. Yes, I choose to save for retirement, but otherwise.

If we want to know why middle class or formerly middle class households feel like they are losing their grip and need help, it's because people in the top 10% feel the same way...meaning, If I feel that way, I cannot imagine how others feel that live around me if I make more than 9 out of 10.
