We agree on the Expansion by Contraction and it will be interesting to see

what a school like UNC will do if this keeps rolling. I have no doubt that the SEC would prefer UNC, but for some reason I am not so sure about UNC not being in the same conference as Duke because of the basketball rivalry. It's like putting the Red Sox and Yankees or Auburn and Alabama or Michigan and Ohio State in different Divisions/Conferences. UNC knows what those games do for their University profile and I just can't see them giving that up. Consequently, I think the B1G played it's cards by getting Maryland (Rutgers was to help hold on to Penn State). They want to go South and as you said they are AAU snobs at the Presidential level. I also think they would love to take over basketball. That's one of the reasons Kansas keeps coming up for the B1G. I am not sure when, but I think the B1G for their addition by subtraction takes UVA, UNC, Duke and GT.

Ironically on the SEC they reached out as much as they could through the Paul Finebaum show to Virginia Tech in 2012 and again a couple of weeks ago. The SEC teams that play us keep saying they are like us, very passionate over football. That's their blue print, that's the culture they want (keep an eye on WVU). They don't care about market that much (Miami), they don't care about the AAU, they care about football passion. My question is why is Finebaum who is as connected to the SEC as you get, say that now? He's not saying reach out in 10 years, he is saying reach out now. That guy is very strategic with his show, it may not look like it, but that guy gets information because he is as dumb as a fox. Don't be fooled by his awe shucks accent, that man is smart and knows exactly what he is doing on every show. Your thoughts?
