Folks dont realize this, Kansas focuses heavy on academics


They are not a football factory, but rather the student athlete experience. Big 12, (they really like the old Big 8), not really into the Texas THANG...... They are sorta Nebraska with academics. They are not interested in the SEC football factory. and if they were invited to the big 10 they would jump.
(also if you all know this Kansas and Missouri are bitter rivals. They really have quit playing, not like ole big 8 days). Missouri left the big 12 to get invite to the big 10.. they thought they had it, but nebraska back door them. They were forced to the SEC. It would really grate them to see Kansas get into the big 10. and on their western front they have 3 big 10 schools, Kansas nebraska and Iowa and Illinois snd indiana
