He's 55 now and plays the piano better than ever


but I think his voice is giving up some ground. Singing live is always harder than in the studio because you only get one take but when he sang "Brick" his high notes were not as smooth as 10 years ago, the last time I saw him live in RVA, but the delivery of that song was from the heart and emotional and very effective. I know "Brick" is probably his most well known song but I'll wager that most Folds fans, like me, would not put that song in their top 5 Folds' songs. He's recorded better soft "ballad" songs like that one, in addition to the unique "piano rock" Ben Folds Five sound that made him so popular in the 90s.
