My from my personal experience is to get to know your congressman and

Senators. I believe they still require a rec from one. I ended up with a lot of support from my guidance counselors and were made aware of leadership ops. Went to DC for leadership conference with the senators and ran for club presidents and class officer too…while trying to play sports… I also got a letter of rec from local veteran’s head. The problem I ran into was another gent from my high school was the QB and for the rec to go army and I lost out for my bid…. Without playing sports there my SAT was just average too…Oh well life went on at VT for me!
