I have a slightly different spin


the market value right now is very volatile with the uncertainty of the impact of cord-cutting. I think they were trying to keep the phase 1 B1G agreement as low as possible knowing it will influence both the second phase of the B1G contract as well as the updated ACC deal. It was no secret that they weren't competing in Phase 1.

Fox then goes and pays $250m for it anyway. So we know the current value of a football/basketball game and I doubt if ESPN was happy when they heard that figure. The ACCN/updated rights payment formula is no doubt long, but it is not higher math.
