Texas wanted to bring Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and Colorado with them to the Pac 12 (16). Only Colorado accepted the invitation after Texas A&M wanted no part of the move. Texas A&M decided it was finally time to join the SEC and break way from Texas' control. Missouri freaked out and was accepted into the SEC a few weeks later. The lack of A&M and Texas' demands killed the deal. Some say Texas wanted to bring Baylor with them but the Pac 12 said 'no'. I don't know how much truth there is to the Baylor part.
