Sorry to disagree, but Texas was talking to the Pac 10
In the state of Texas, Texas always dreamed of being associated with the Pac 10 California schools and A&M dreamed of joining the SEC. Texas and Larry Scott were seriously talking but things fell through. Colorado is the only one of those 6 to actually make the move. Colorado, like Texas, always had dreams of joining the Pac 10. A&M said "the hell with Texas' plans" and went off to the SEC. Nebraska had it out with Texas and left for the Big 10 in 2010. Missouri knew that they weren't in Texas' plans to join the Pac 10, so they panicked and fortunately got invited to the SEC.
You can believe what you wish, but Texas was close to leaving the Big 12 with 5 of their Big 12 buddies back in the summer of 2010.
