Just want to emphasize the myth of the SECN


Too many here seem to think it generates that much revenue because it draws massive viewership from non-SEC fans. That couldn't be further from the truth. It generates that much money because ESPN had promoted the SEC hard for several years before forcing it into their "base" ESPN package lineup. Heck, the SEC is still pushing the SEC...in every sport.

The ACC, on the other hand, has been trashed by ESPN for almost a decade. Pretty clear they really do not want to create a second conference network, and this feels like the 2nd coming of VT's new "Nike deal." The fact that we put all of our "eggs in one (ESPN) basket" and didn't shop around indicates a crap deal is on the way.
