before you give yourself a stroke. In this thread alone you stress over a couple of four star commits and Maryland making more money than VT. Let's look at the reality of those two things. The commits are little more than an indication of interest and maybe even a placeholder but, the reality is until a recruit actually signs the LOI things are as likely as not to change. Even after signing the LOI, the real value of a recruiting class is several years from being able to be assessed. The making more money argument is also open to interpretation. That is a top line number that isn't necessarily indicative of the financial health and strength of a department that is trying to dig itself out of years of financial mismanagement. Furthermore, that is even before getting to the discussion of whether they are capable of transferring the top line to on field/court results. The Big Ten money coming to Maryland amounts to little more than lipstick on a pig until they prove they can actually be effective using it. From the look of all those empty seats disguised as fans at their spring outing there is still a lot of challenge around generating real excitement when it comes to Maryland football, recruits or not. Why not enjoy the ride instead of always trying to look for something to constantly complain about?
