My kids play sports, I played soccer at a high level.
At her age she could tell you if she thinks she can play. If the Dr. says no damage would happen I would leave it up to her. If she gives it a go and can’t play tell her to come out of the game. Clearly communicate this to the coach. I.e. “if my daughter says she can’t play, you will take her out.” That being said. I played on some travel teams, at her age I would trust her and your judgment. If she tells you she can’t play on it don’t send her that removes the coach from the situation. I would be very wary of a coach that says I played with that injury. Every injury is different. A good coach should know that and wouldn’t push a kid that has played through injuries in the past if they say they can’t play.
Some free advice (take it for what it’s worth), I gave up travel teams when I was 15. Partly due to coaches like you discribed and also to give my body a break. I still had 4 D1 scholarship offers when it was said and done. Hindsight being 20/20. I played in games I shouldn’t have that didn’t mean anything. I don’t regret playing in playoffs while injuried. There were games in the middle of the season I should have sat and the rest of my season could have been more comfortable/effective
