Some are definitely less effective, people touch the mask with their hands and it is filthy. Then they touch their face and household objects or shove it in their pockets/purse. Breathing through the mask concentrates microbes and the masks are disgusting. People don't wash or replace them very often, like every day. Studies have shown that oxygen levels decrease and can be dangerous under some conditions.
