We don't need to test the entire nation - we need to test those with ...

symptoms and those who may need to interact with the vulnerable. Anyone could go take a test, hit the grocery store on the way home and contract the virus, and get negative test results 24 hours later. COVID testing is a snapshot in time, even if you can get the results in 5-10 minutes. There is absolutely no value in testing those without symptoms except to improve statistical analysis but that is certainly not worth the cost. We can statistically extrapolate like every other country to get close to real numbers, especially since each test is just a snapshot.

If the entire country was like the NBA right now then things would be different. They are in a 'bubble' and currently have zero cases. However, as soon as that bubble is violated, then they may have to start over. We can't put the entire country in a bubble again or everything outside that bubble will be destroyed and those stuck within the bubble will be far less healthy from the experience. The elderly and compromised should bubble up on their own to the degree that they can.
