Piggy-backing on Elberto's stock post ... I am now under 7 years until

retirement and based on every projection I have seen or used, I am in very good shape. I met with my Fidelity advisor last week and he still recommended I stay 70% in equities and I kind of disagree with that right now. So Fidelity manages half my 401k and I manage the other ... and I am up on them over the past 10 years. However, I just sold off another 6% in stocks last night to get closer to 60% equities in my half. I have a feeling that we will see a significant correction in the market if the election goes as currently predicted and I want to have some fresh powder to take advantage of it if/when that happens.

Plus, a friend of mine who is an investor and certified planner brought up a great point when the market crashed in March. If stocks drop by 50% that means they have to go up by 100% to get back to where they were. With less than 7 years in my horizon having too much money in equities seems like throwing on every down with a 14 point lead in the 4th quarter.
