I could make a case 70% equities is still a bit low


Remember, your money doesn't need to last to retirement, it needs to last through retirement. A hundred years ago, people tended to die within a year of retiring. Today, living 20+ years after retiring is pretty normal if you are in good health when you do retire. So even on the day you retire, you still need to be thinking long-term.
