On average market doubles every 7 years


tough decision, but 7 years is a long time of missing out gains if you move into bonds or some low risk/low return security.

Best advice I can think of is have enough in bonds to extend your equities investment to 10 years? E.G. have enough in bonds at the 7 year mark that you can pull from that for an additional 3 years?
