I am in similar situation, hoping to be a bit closer to retirement


The adjustment from chasing growth to asset protection has been a tough adjustment for me to make. Have started to think through asset allocation not just by what my mix should be, but more by when I want to use it...ie, leaving my 401k heavy in equities (I wont draw for at least 13 years) and moving my brokerage accounts to more protective positions as those are the primary funds I'll use between now and 59.5.
