Yep, I would have done the exact same thing. I'm not much of a risk taker.


...which is one of the reasons I've stayed with the same company for my entire career - I could possibly make more money elsewhere, but I have fantastic security in my current position and the company has always treated me well. Plus, I have a great boss and the owner of the company is a fantastic guy. There's really no one that I don't respect, so it's an easy place to want to stay around. All of these "intangible" things are worth quite a bit to me, and I also tend to feel loyalty to people that treat me well. That may be a bit misguided on my part this day and age, but it's just the way I am.

It seems like you are approaching this process with integrity, and I don't think you'll ever go wrong in doing so. Best of luck going forward!
