Great points. A couple other things to add.

1. If there is Flex Scheduling, I'd also move to junk the championship game and just give everyone a 13th game.

2. Also, I am not a fan of the CG at an NFL neutral site (no offense to Charlotte). If they match up 1 and 2 at the end, play it on campus. If #1 is undefeated, give them a home game. If neither are undefeated, let the top ranked team play at home. If both are undefeated, then maybe they can play at a neutral campus stadium, which would of course be available if every school is scheduled thusly.
