Yeah this is my line of thinking as well...

I always wonder if this is purely a negotiation tactic for Texas and Oklahoma to try to extract more of the TV revenue from the rest of the league when their TV contract is up for renewal. Though, the timing doesn't seem to align very well since it'll be another year or two before any talks of an extension would happen.

Though, if this happens, I wonder how pissed the Texas A&M brass would be.
