Tombo, what you describe is school wide, not just applicable to

the AthDept. The AthDept is just the most visible. I have no idea where you reside, but if you live within daily driving distance of campus, you see it every day. I, personally, think it stems from "siloing" within the university, and poor/non-existent communications with what the school calls "stakeholders." They give lip service to the stakeholders called students, parents, fans, donors, etc. They ask for no input, and ignore it when given. Once again, @VTHokie2000 makes some astute observations.
