You aren't.

Money wasn't there for Odom - especially adding the assistants salaries to bring in his guys. We effectively took Bud salary to hire JHam and Claeys. The additional line coaches have raised original staff costs by a fraction. The money wasn't there.

Not sure how much input HC have on staff salary - as its a deal between the AD and hired staff member.

Normally it's argued that Fu is to dedicated to his staff - yet you propose the opposite - his staff too fearful of him to question anything. That's an interesting take.

Whit didn't gamble - he was a top notch prospect. Thus why other programs were pursuing.

I guess I struggle with the logic of fire Fu because he didn't do more with less; new coach gets more and let's see if he can do more with more. That's the breakdown in hiring a new coach to my way of thinking.
