I know that, but my point is Stech is suggesting that the majority

of ACC schools, who are currently paired with a rival for their protected cross-division game, should be expected to do that though. If people honestly believe that VT and UVA wouldn't do that (assuming they were in opposite divisions), then why assuming that the following pairings would behave differently?

Pitt-Syracuse
Duke-Wake
UNC-NC State
GT-Clemson
Miami-FSU

Plus, proposing something when VT doesn't have any skin in the game is a weak move IMHO.
