Understand. But they've been doing SOMETHING. Cashing some checks already.

1.Pac12 has some significant disadvantages when compared to the ACC due to footprint.
2.They've ALREADY been cashing checks worth tens of millions of dollars from this thing.
3.They always have the option of selling off half and assuring themselves better distribution.
4.Every new subscriber goes directly into their pockets and it will also increase the value of this already $800 million enterprise.
5.We all know the ACC "network" will not get its teams anywhere near the B1G or SEC as well.

I just love how the Pac12's went about this thing. They don't have the population numbers to make a comparable network to the B1G, but they've went out and made a quite profitable network of their own. I like the image this projects of those universities too. Who needs ESPN, when you've got talented media folks at those schools?

Furthermore, I believe this ACC "network," if you can call it that, is going to spin off only slightly more revenue than what the Pac12 has. I feel the ACC will pretty much be paid that $45 million and that's that. The Pac12N has already made changes that will get it in the range of $3million/school/year. And ACC schools will never have the option of selling shares for hundreds of millions of dollars.

And oh, things are changing a ton right now and the Pac12 might very well be in a better position than even the SEC or B1G in 8 years. Those network models may dry up, but the Pac12 will be left with the better options of selling content directly to the consumer.

Love it. Smart smart people running that league. Sure, the Pac12 network hasn't gotten them close to the B1G, but who ever realistically thought it would?
