I don't argue any of those points...
I just wonder, a decade from now (when a few P5 conference GORs are up), if the AAC will have half those schools you listed. I just think UConn, Houston and Cincinnati are going to bolt the first chance they get. Then, all of a sudden, WSU is stuck in a conference much like C-USA looks today.
In the meantime, they can make a little more money, increase exposure and possibly improve recruiting... but for about ten years maybe.
My hope is that 80 +/- schools can all become part of the Power 4/5. If that happens, then WSU possibly made a great move. If not, they won't be any better off than they are now. At least it could help them in the next ten years. Regardless, their basketball program is going to be good in the MVC, AAC or any other conference.
Shame they're not a Catholic school... they could inquire about the Big East... a better athletic fit. FWIW, Butler isn't a Catholic school, so there's that.
