The red herring is "should", which implies that there is some factor of
"fairness" involved in the equation. Why "should" school X make more than school Y, or put another way, why should otherwise equals not be paid the same?
The snarky answer is "capitalism". But we know why Ole Miss and Michigan State make more money in football than VT, they are in conferences with better TV contracts. We also know the reasons those contracts pay more...it has been discussed here ad nauseum.
You and I have always agreed on Swofford. I called for him to be fired for nepotism in the Raycom deal the hour it was announced. Where we part ways on the issue is that I only posted it once or twice. You can't let it go. As Will said, you are a one note poster. And I will add, it is a pretty sour and stale note.
The only thing of relevance for any of us, and any school, is what we choose to do next. The fun part of this board is sharing and debating those thoughts and possibilities...not rewind, repeat.
