Champion (definition)

1. an entity that has defeated or surpassed all rivals in a competition, especially in sports.

I don't care how often I hear something that is wrong. If one team wins, it was the better team. Playing in a CCG means that a team had a better season (i.e won more games) than the other teams in that conference, and probably had a head to head victory over the runner up.

Results on the field (wins and losses v. conference and OOC P5 competition) and head to head matchups are the closest we can get to objective.

Otherwise we might as well award championships by money spent, game attendance, or recruiting rankings.

Spoiler, the SEC and B1G want the latter.
