If you were doing the speed you were charged with, I think you will be fighting quite an up hill battle, because you are guilty of exceeding the posted speed limit. Now it becomes a matter of circumstances and unless there was a true emergency, then it is for your convenience. I understand your frustration with the slow driver, but I doubt it is going to satisfy a judge. May get some lienency for a job that directly serves the public, and again, might turn that against you because you should know better than others the dangers. Are you getting an attorney?
