That's a law that needs to be rewritten, but no one wants to touch it.

They should eliminate "in excess of eighty miles per hour." I think there are VA roads with 70mph speed limits, and driving ten miles per hour over the speed limit is probably not reckless.

Actually the cars are far safer than when that law was written, and most (99.9%) new cars & trucks can be driven safely over 80 mph.
