You could be experiencing a slipped disc which is a precursor to a disc


herniation. Having gone thru this several years ago, I can speak from experience that you should visit a back specialist (ortho surgeon). I also was initially prescribed muscle relaxants (from a NP), but they did nothing. Moved onto to traction therapy (from a chiro) - no relief either. Then one morning I got up and tried to put on my jeans, and BAM! My entire right leg felt like it was burning from inside out, the ER docs had to give me Dilaudid injections to quell the pain. Long story short, I herniated my L5/S1 disc, which required a discectomy to correct.
