Daughter in Colorado had her washer run over causing damage both upstairs &


in the basement. This happened twice now and her insurance was cancelled. Wife owns the home and has negotiated with the ins co from $1000 to $2500 deductible. Wife is there now and just bought a new washer and dryer in hopes the daughter is responsible enough to watch for such things in the future.
I had a small pipe break in the garage that did some damage to the adjourning dining room. No big deal. It was taken care of with no consequences other than the yearly increase I see
anyway. However, in searching for new a new insurance co. one of them (Liberty) denied me because of the break 4 years ago. This was the first claim against an ins co I have ever had. They were willing to insure me if I upped the deductible. They also wanted twice the cost with half the coverage of my present insurance co. How could I possible turn that down??? Sticking with Farmers although I think Coach McQ has the right idea.
