I have a ground level house, but it's in an X zone. The only hurricane

that has ever come inside is Donna. I know this because I found a pencil mark on a door jamb labeled '1960", and I have studied the hurricane history here,
Donna's surge is thought to be 13 feet. Irma is thought to be 9', but I haven't found anything definitive anywhere. From my own perspective, looking at property in Big Pine, where Irma's surge may have been the highest, it sure seems like it was higher than 9' to me.
