Since the local sheriff spokesman said they'd grounded their helicopters


I wonder if that was before the Bryant Sikorsky lifted off or if they were already airborne when the police copters went home.

I don't know the difference between VFR and "Special VFR", but I recall wanting to get in the air for photo flights when the cloud ceiling was 1200 AGR. We flew for photos at 750 AGR (no lower), so I thought we'd have "enough room". LOL. I learned that unless you have 3000 or 4000 ceiling AGR that ATC won't let the little planes up in the Class C airspace.
