The company that held my IRS didn't bother to send in the basis...


when I cashed out an account. so the IRS decided the whole $20k in this case was taxable instead of maybe $4K the account made over the years. So long story short, I called a final time, got someone who had some importance, told her my plight "give me a few minutes" (and yes, I sent in extensive documentation from my IRS mutual fund showing all the IRAs being created eg, basis) I mean, I was ready for war... she comes back, the person that this was assigned to hasn't done anything with it, she hits some button, problem solved.

I'm in one of those moments where I'm so amped up that I wanted to prove I was right, "you can't do that to me, I demand to prove I was right"!!! slowed down, wait a minute, I got what I wanted, have a nice day..
